1941 Indian Scout 741B
Engine: GDA3173

Current Registration & WoF
Indian introduced the Scout in the late 1920s as a mid-weight alternative to its larger Chief model, offering a balance of power and agility. The early 1930s saw some design challenges, particularly in 1932 when the same frame was used across multiple models, resulting in an overly bulky ride. However, a major improvement came in 1934 with the introduction of the Sport Scout, a lighter, more performance-oriented machine.

This particular model, the 741, was produced as an export version for Allied military forces during World War II. Its military heritage and adaptability were proven when a Sport Scout took victory at the inaugural Daytona 200 in 1937.

Restored to an exceptional standard, this 1941 Indian Scout has been meticulously rebuilt with attention to detail. The engine has been extensively refreshed with new pistons, valves, guides, crankpin, drive and pinion shafts, rod races, crankcase races, and new rollers throughout. While the gearbox itself remains original, the mechanic who worked on it has assured that it remains in excellent working condition, with a new clutch hub and gearbox output bearings fitted for reliability.

Cosmetically, the bike has undergone a full respray, bringing it back to its former glory. The engine was also bored out from 500cc to 600cc, enhancing performance, and the electrical system has been upgraded to a modern 12V setup. Since the restoration was completed, the Scout has only covered 650 kilometers, making it a beautifully preserved example of this historic motorcycle.
