Award-Winning 1953 Modified FJ Holden A True Head-Turner
This is not just a classic car it is a meticulously built, award-winning 1953 FJ Holden Sedan that combines iconic Australian 1950s styling with serious, well-engineered performance upgrades. Finished with a deep, high-quality paint finish and enhanced by tasteful modern touches, the car commands attention wherever it goes. Under the bonnet sits a comprehensively built 3.3-litre Holden six-cylinder engine, featuring bored ACL flat-top race pistons, ACL race rings, shot-peened Starfire rods, a ground crankshaft, and a ¾ race cam. The engine has been fully balanced with a lightened flywheel and topped with a 9-port Yella Terra head, Torana XU-1 carburettor, and Redline high-flow ported inlet manifold. A 2½-inch exhaust system delivers a deep, purposeful note, while an electronic distributor ensures reliable ignition.
Power is delivered through an M20 four-speed manual gearbox to an HR Holden differential with a 3.36 ratio. The car also benefits from HR Holden front suspension and drum brakes, improving road manners while retaining a classic driving feel. It has been rewired to 12 volts and fitted with electric wipers for improved usability.
Inside, the FJ features a custom leather interior, finished to a standard that complements the exterior presentation and reinforces its show-quality credentials.
