1968 Holden HK Monaro GTS Unfinished Restoration Project

This 1968 HK Monaro began life as a genuine GTS 327, purchased over 30 years ago as a restoration project. The original shell was severely rusted after years in a Pukekohe paddock, so a second body was sourced in Hastings a genuine HK GTS 307 and the parts from the original 327 car were transferred across before the original body was scrapped.

Current condition:

Running Gear: Car starts and runs. Original 327 gearbox is missing currently fitted with a two-stage Powerglide.

Body & Paint: Presents as a GTS 307 body. Paintwork shows blistering in areas. Some external mouldings and badges are missing.

Interior: Some trim missing or damaged.

Other Missing Items: Body identification plates, original wheels and hubcaps.

Summary:
This is an unfinished project offering a genuine HK Monaro GTS base with strong potential. While not complete, and requiring restoration, it represents an opportunity to secure an iconic Australian muscle car with a rich history and plenty of scope for an enthusiast to return it to glory.
