A rare opportunity to secure a 1972 Chevrolet 350 HQ Statesman, with just 668 produced worldwide and only 68 delivered to the New Zealand market. This example retains its matching numbers drivetrain and presents beautifully in red with bright chrome trim highlighting the elegant Statesman styling.
Originally developed by General Motors Australia as a luxury model positioned above the Holden range, the Statesman was produced in limited numbers and selected examples were fitted with the Chevrolet 350 small-block V8 for export and New Zealand markets, giving these cars a unique identity and strong collector appeal today.
This car received a full panel and paint restoration in 2017, along with several improvements including Dynamat insulation installed to the floors, new underlay and carpet fitted, and 17-inch SS Cragar wheels and tyres. Further interior work included tinted windows in 2017 and a new hood lining fitted in 2018. The differential was rebuilt in 2019.
All original parts removed during restoration are supplied with the vehicle.
These HQ-based Chevrolet 350 models represent one of the final Australian-built cars to be factory fitted with the iconic Chevrolet small-block V8.
