2001 Honda NSX Targa Top, Tan Interior, 52,000 km, Production #1200001
The Honda NSX is a true icon in the world of supercars, born from Hondas 1980s ambition to challenge Europes finest. Designed as the New Sportscar Experimental, the NSX aimed to rival V8 Ferraris of the era while offering superior reliability and accessibility. With input from Formula One legend Ayrton Senna and Japanese F1 driver Nakajima, the NSX chassis was honed for exceptional rigidity and performance, drawing inspiration from high-visibility fighter jet cockpits. Even the designer of the McLaren F1 has called the NSX monumental for sports car design worldwide.
This example is a later variant of the first-generation NSX, equipped with a 3.0-litre DOHC 24-valve V6, VTEC variable valve timing, 4-channel ABS, electric power steering, and Hondas first electronic throttle control in a production car. Finished in iconic Honda Red with a tan interior, it is the last pre-facelift model, retaining the aggressive and timeless 90s NSX styling.
Originally sold in Perth, Western Australia, in September 2004 for over AUD $300,000, this NSX has had just two owners. The current owner, a former Honda WA executive, acquired it in 2009 with 18,500 km and has maintained it meticulously, relocating it to New Zealand in 2012. Today, it shows only 52,000 km.
This NSX is exceptionally well-equipped and preserved:
Targa top
Automatic transmission with paddles
Complete stamped service book and 14 years of detailed receipts
Three keys, original tool kit, unused ashtray, space-saver spare
NSX-branded CD player, mats, decals, and touch-up paint
Electric windows and doors, unblemished rims
Production plate #1200001
Unlike many supercars, servicing can be performed by your local Honda dealer, making it highly practical for regular use. Rare, usable, and utterly reliable, this NSX is the perfect summer-day cruiser and a collectible investment with strong appreciation potential.
If youre looking for a supercar that blends performance, usability, and iconic status, this 2001 Honda NSX is a standout opportunity.
