Professionally Built Competition Car Hayden Paddon Motorsport
This 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII is a purpose-built competition car, professionally prepared to a very high standard by Mike Pittans at Hayden Paddon Motorsport, making it suitable for circuit racing, targa events, rally use, or as a serious appreciating motorsport collectible.
At the heart of the car is a freshly built 2.0-litre engine, reportedly with less than 100 km of running, assembled using top-tier motorsport components throughout. The build reflects a no-compromise approach, focused on strength, reliability, and performance under sustained competition use.
The engine specification includes CP Racing 10:1 compression pistons, Manley I-beam connecting rods, a forged Manley crankshaft, ARP head studs and rod bolts, Tomei head gasket, new big-end and main bearings, and a full rebore and skim of the head and block. The cylinder head has been fully rebuilt with new valve springs, supported by a Racefab racing sump, new oil pump, sensors, and ancillary components. High-flow injectors and a complete timing and gasket refresh complete the package.
Engine management and data are handled by a MoTeC M1 ECU with upgrades including high and low boost maps, knock control, flex-fuel capability, Level 2 logging, and MoTeC LTC. The car is tuned for E85 via a fuel flex sensor, with automatic adjustment for other fuels. A MoTeC C125 digital dash display and GPS lap timing sensors provide full driver feedback and data acquisition.
The drivetrain features the standard 5-speed gearbox, professionally rebuilt with a new 5th-gear synchromesh, paired with a performance clutch and flywheel (fitted 2020). A full roll cage, built in-house, underlines the cars serious competition intent and safety compliance.
The vehicle was computer checked and track tested in December 2025, ensuring everything is operating as intended.
Adding further value, the car is supplied with four complete sets of wheels and tyres, including the original Evo VIII factory wheels.
This is not a lightly modified road carit is a properly engineered, professionally built Evo VIII competition machine, ideal for a buyer seeking a proven platform for motorsport, targa events, or a standout addition to a serious performance collection.
