The BMW i8 remains one of BMWs most distinctive and futuristic designs, combining a carbon-fibre passenger cell, lightweight aluminium chassis, iconic upward-opening doors and an advanced plug-in hybrid drivetrain.

This is far from a standard i8. It has been upgraded with a Stage 2 tune, upgraded downpipe and catalytic converter removal, followed by a professional dyno tune producing approximately 430hp combined and 680Nm. It is likely to be one of the quicker i8s in New Zealand and has been run exclusively on 98-octane petrol during my ownership.

The i8 has also been tastefully upgraded with a number of exterior and interior enhancements, while retaining its distinctive factory character.
