The Everest Titanium is the version Ford built for people who want a proper off-road-capable seven-seater without giving up comfort. This 2018 is NZ new, finished in red, and set up for the whole crew, with seven seats across three rows and a ladder-frame wagon thats happy on the highway or a gravel road.

Power comes from the 2.0-litre bi-turbo diesel, which makes 157kW through a 10-speed automatic and selectable 4WD. It has the grunt to tow up to 3,100kg braked, and the economy to keep the fuel stops reasonable. At around 144,000km it has covered real distance, and it comes with the confidence of a well-known workhorse.

The Titanium also adds plenty of driver assistance. Adaptive cruise, lane keeping support, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring and a rear camera are all on board, along with parking assist, automatic headlights with auto high beam and a smart key. There are airbags across all three rows, plus a drivers knee airbag.
