ZERO RESERVE AUCTION. 1950 Ford F1 Bonus A Near-Perfect, Factory-Correct Restoration by HBOMB Customs & Classics.
Some restorations are cosmetic. Others are mechanical. This one is absolute a ground-up, no-expense-spared resurrection by HBOMB Customs & Classics, bringing this rare 1950 Ford F1 Bonus back to a standard that surpasses how it left the factory floor in Kansas City. Every component, every surface, every mechanical detail has been painstakingly rebuilt, refinished, or reproduced to exact period specification.
Beginning with a bare-metal body, the truck was carefully filed, blocked, and prepared before being finished in its original factory colour black. The result is a deep, glass-like mirror gloss that shows the trucks clean lines with perfection. As truck #287 off the line on 24 May 1950, authenticity mattered. Even the deck bed was reconstructed to the exact 1950 F1 specification an incredibly rare detail, as most restored trucks run the later 50s wooden slat design. Recreating the original all-metal bed was a complex task few restorers attempt, yet it has been executed beautifully here.
Under the bonnet, the original flathead 239ci V8 has been fully rebuilt, retaining its period-correct components: restored carburettor, generator, oil-bath air cleaner, starter, and new radiator. It starts effortlessly, runs with the smoothness only a correctly rebuilt flathead can deliver, and performs exactly as Ford engineered it to. The original crash-box four-speed manual, diff, and chassis have all been refinished and restored, supported by brand-new Firestone cross-ply whitewalls with stainless hubcaps and dress rings.
Inside, the cabin has been fully renewed with subtle gold accents and completely refurbished factory-style fittings. Gauges, steering column, steering wheel, fuel tank, seat trim, headliner, mats, seals, glass, horn, stainless and chrome all new or restored, all correct. The underbody and chassis display the same level of uncompromising detail, ensuring the truck is as solid and reliable beneath the surface as it appears above it.
This F1 is not simply restored it is authentically reborn. Better than art, yet fully drivable, it is a showpiece for the absolute purist, an appreciating vintage Ford that will impress any expert who views it. For collectors who demand correctness, beauty, and craftsmanship at the highest level, this 1950 Ford F1 Bonus represents an extraordinary opportunity.
