British Heritage - Well Maintained - Service History - UK Import

1952 Bentley Mark VI Park Ward Drophead Coupé | One of 57 Built | Exceptional Provenance

Some classic cars are rare because few have survived. Others were rare from the day they were built.
This 1952 Bentley Mark VI Drophead Coupé, chassis B119NY, is one of just 57 examples constructed by renowned British coachbuilder Park Ward to its elegant Design No. 99 specification.

Delivered new by Jack Barclay of London on 9 April 1952, B119NY was originally finished in Tudor Grey and supplied to James Byron Chaplin of P. J. Howes Ltd. Its history can then be traced through subsequent British ownership before the Bentley was exported to New Zealand in 1969.

Today, B119NY presents beautifully in silver and benefits from extensive restoration and mechanical work over its life. Documented historical work includes engine reconditioning, body and panel restoration, retrimming, a replacement exhaust, recarpeted luggage compartment and power-assisted steering.
Further work reported as having been completed within the past couple of years includes replacement bushes, brake work, underbody treatment, refurbished carburettors, power-steering improvements and a new electrically operated hood.
The car retains its original toolkit, together with a reproduction owner's handbook, workshop manual and parts manual

Powered by Bentley's later 4.6-litre straight-six, the Mark VI combines effortless performance with the craftsmanship of traditional coachbuilding. The lightweight aluminium Park Ward bodywork makes this an altogether more special proposition than the standard steel-bodied Mark VI.
