A rare opportunity to secure a true piece of Subaru rally-bred history, the 1998 Subaru Impreza WRX Type RA 555, number 018 of just 1000 ever produced worldwide. Finished in iconic World Rally Blue with gold alloy wheels, this limited edition was built to celebrate Subarus dominance in the World Rally Championship during the late 1990s.
Imported to New Zealand from Japan in 2006 with just 78,500 km, this example has been cherished during its time here and retains the unmistakable character and pedigree that makes the RA 555 so sought-after today.
Powered by Subarus legendary turbocharged 2.0L flat-four, it benefits from a turbo-back Redline exhaust with high-flow catalytic converter and an HKS EVC 1 boost controller, enhancing both performance and soundtrack while staying true to the rally-inspired spirit of the RA models.
As a factory lightweight variant, the Type RA featured shorter gearing, close-ratio 5-speed transmission, reduced sound deadening, manual windows, and other weight-saving measures, all engineered to deliver a raw, driver-focused experience.
